Coronavirus latest news: UK death toll rises by 621 to 4,934, as warning comes that outdoor exercise could be banned to stop lockdown rebels
A total of 4,934 patients have died in hospital after testing positive for the coronavirus in the UK as of 5pm on Saturday, the Department of Health said, up by 621 from 4,313 the day before. This is a smaller increase than the previous few days.
However, ministers are warning that the lockdown could yet be tightened further if social distancing rules are flouted during the warm weather.
As temperatures rose across the country, some parks closed because too many people had ignored the advice to stay at home.
